Bank of America Corp. continues its reign as the most active sponsor of museums.

Supported by its long-running Museums on Us program, 36 percent of museums with a sponsor in the retail bank category report Bank of America as a sponsor, according to IEG Research.

Wells Fargo & Co. and JPMorgan Chase tie as the second most active sponsors (23 percent) followed by Target Corp. as the third most active sponsor (22 percent).

In total, banks are 14.4 times more likely to sponsor museums than the average of all sponsors. Other active categories—all of which trail well beyond banks in terms of number of deals—include insurance, brokerage firms and auction houses.
